In 2013 I went on an amazing holiday to Antarctica. I started hand piecing the Marina's Compass on the ship while crossing the Drakes Passage. This stretch of water can be the roughest in the world. Thankfully we experienced "Drakes Lake" . It was calm water all the way to the peninsular. I thought a Marina's Compass was very fitting for this trip. All the colours I have used represent an aspect of the journey. I would return to Antarctica again in a heart beat but until then I will look at my quilt and be reminded of a truly unique place.
